DTV offers exceptional picture quality, and an abundance of new viewing options for consumers.  Through digital compression technology, broadcasters can offer more local news, local sports, public affairs, multilingual programming, religious programming and expanded life-saving coverage of natural disasters and weather emergencies.

February 17, 2009 marks the end of the analog television era.  It is important that you know how to continue to receive your free over-the-air broadcast and to enjoy all the benefits of DTV.

The National Association of Broadcasters has launched an aggressive consumer education campaign on the digital television transition and has developed a consumer friendly website that contains comprehensive information about the transition including information about converter boxes and the coupon program.

The DTV Transition Coalition, a large coalition of public and private sector organizations, has come together to support the transition and help educate consumers.  This website includes information about the coalition as well as information for consumers about the transition to digital television.

The National Telecommunications and Information Agency website offers information on the DTV coupon program and information on how to request a converter box coupon.
