Details: WMBF, Raycom Media's newest television station in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is looking for a full-time News Content Specialist. Successful candidate will be responsible for operating various crew positions for all assigned newscasts. Flexible availability required. Previous experience working in a TV production department preferred, but not required. Must be able to learn various broadcasting equipment systems and follow verbal commands. Candidates must also demonstrate a willingness to assist news department in the writing, editing and posting of stories on air and wmbfnews.com. Pre-employment drug test required. Three-year driving record to be provided prior to hire. Betacam and live ENG experience necessary. Available to work flexible, irregular hours, nights, holidays and weekends to meet needs of news coverage. Capable of handling physical requirements of lifting and maintaining equipment |

Duties include handling underwriting for ETV Radio, Television and Web with businesses, organizations and advertising agencies in North and South Carolina. Meets monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue goals. Researches and develops prospects. Maintains and develops business wtih existing underwriters. Actively works within dept. procedures to ensure that collections are timely. Analyze general marketing needs, interest and budget of existing and prospective underwriters. Maintain in-person, verbal and written communication with existing and prospective underwriters to present and sell sponsorships. Develop a territory plan which includes a list of potential underwriting clients, a strategy and timetable for contacting and serving them. Create, present and close multi-media marketing plans for existing and prospective underwriters. Conduct on-going underwriter research, including their status in community in reference to public broadcasting, attitude toward community support, history of giving, etc. Maintain an active file on each existing and prospective underwriter. Submits progress reports as defined by manager. Keeps informed on programming, production, events and other opportunities for underwriting. Attends internal meetings as required. |
| Requirements: |
A Bachelor's degree and relevant program experience. Demonstrated success in advertising sales; ability to prospect and develop new business; ability to maintain and grow existing business; willingness to actively participate in collections; ability to develop and deliver sales proposals, including closing the sale and providing follow-up; ability to communicate and persuade others; ability to coordinate sales efforts with underwriting team; ability to negotiate complex and expansive underwriting agreements; knowledge of basic financial and math skills; general knowledge of business operations; knowledge of boradcasting operations and procedures; knowledge of TV and radio ratings and audience measurement; basic computer skills to include experience in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree along with three years deomonstrated success in the area of sales or marketing.
