Responsibilities:
• Pitch, Shoot, Write, Edit & Present compelling, impactful stories that resonate with the communities we serve
• Develop relationships and cultivate sources to enterprise unique, newsworthy stories daily
• Excel in breaking news situations—thinking on your feet while maintaining journalistic integrity
• Master multimedia storytelling across TV, digital, and social media platforms
• Contribute to newsroom strategy through daily editorial meetings and long-term strategic newscast initiatives
• Demonstrate editorial judgment while upholding AP Style standards and libel laws
• Maintain professionalism both at the station and in the community, fostering positive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and viewers
• Work flexible schedules including overnights, weekends, and extended hours for breaking news and severe weather coverage
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support newsroom operations
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communication, or related field (required)
• Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) experience (preferred)
• Producing experience (a plus)
• Proficiency with ENPS and non-linear editing software such as EDIUS (a plus)
• Excellent on-camera presence for both live and pre-recorded reporting
• Clear, conversational writing style with strong command of AP Style
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under deadline pressure
• Outstanding time-management, communication, and organizational skills
• Capability to handle extended hours, holidays, overnights, and specialized severe weather coverage
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR Check required)
