South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state’s public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.
Job Purpose:
This position will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of impactful learning experiences for middle school through adult audiences across South Carolina. The role is responsible for facilitating on-site and in-field engagement programs that advance SCETV’s mission, with a particular focus on public events, student workshops, family learning, and adult learning initiatives. The specialist will help grow SCETV’s revenue-generating education programs and represent the station at community outreach events, in-house field trips, and student-centered opportunities. The role includes significant public-facing interaction and requires a passion for community connection, learning innovation, and student learning. Evening and weekend travel may be required.
Job Duties:
Deliver and support engaging, age-appropriate learning programs for students and adults at station field trips, school visits, community centers, libraries, and other public facilities. Facilitate hands-on learning workshops, student-centered learning opportunities, and public events with a focus on youth empowerment, lifelong learning, and the profile of South Carolina graduate. Serve as a point of contact during in-person events to ensure effective facilitation, meaningful interactions, and alignment with South Carolina College- and Career- Ready Standards that align with the goals of the Education division. Support the creation of educational materials, toolkits, supplies, and learning aids tailored to diverse learners for events and engagement activities. Record attendance, feedback, assessment, and participation data for reporting and data purposes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, community-based organizations, and education-serving nonprofits to coordinate educational engagement. Support the development of impactful outreach strategies that expand SCETV’s presence in underrepresented and rural communities. Represent SCETV at school and community events, including career days, back-to-school nights, STEM events, literacy nights, and library programming.
Assist in the development, promotion, and delivery of fee-based educational services such as field trip packages, ticketed student workshops, and family learning events. Track participant data and assist with event logistics, setup, and registration coordination. Collaborate with the Director of Student and Family Learning to evaluate pricing models, customer satisfaction, impact, and repeat engagement.
Represent the agency as necessary at meetings related to learning initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 3 years experience in an educational environment. Experience facilitating learning programs and working with secondary students and /or adult learners.
