I received my B.A. from the University of South Carolina with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sport & Entertainment Management. I’m a creative storyteller with a distinct passion for all things sports. Going far beyond the national scoreboards, I strive to bring the local news that matters to my viewing area on a daily basis.
Media Experience:
Mar. 2021 to Present
MMJ, Anchor & Producer, WSAV – Savannah, Ga.
During my time at WSAV I have set out to cover the most pressing and meaningful stories that Coastal Georgia and the Lowcountry of South Carolina has to offer. Never shying away from an assignment, my role has allowed me to gain invaluable media experience in the ever-changing life of a MultiMedia Journalist. Shooting, editing and turning daily stories both on-air and online has become a routine. On top of the daily stories, I also actively fill-in as the weekend evening Anchor and Producer and have since late March. While I’ve covered a wide range of stories during my time serving the Coastal Empire, my lifelong passion lies in the sports department. From the Friday night lights, to local college teams, backroad tracks and everywhere in-between, it thoroughly excites me to bring our viewers the sports news that they care about every single day while digging to find interesting long-form stories and angles others may have missed. In the past year and a half in Savannah, I’ve taken advantage of every opportunity to better myself on-air and in the field and believe that I have gathered the necessary experience to produce consistent and proven results in my next endeavor.
Aug. 2020 to Dec. 2020
Carolina News and Reporter, Univ. of South Carolina
Reporter, anchor and producer for the award-winning Broadcast Journalism capstone program at the University of South Carolina. Daily shows are produced live at 4pm, Monday through Friday. Daily meetings are conducted at 9am. Reporters for the day must shoot and edit their stories while keeping a strict deadline of 3pm in mind. I’m confident in my experience both on-camera and in studio production, as well as editing video and producing. I can be trusted to meet daily deadlines and have ample experience working with ENPS and Premiere pro, among other editing programs. Representing the University as a 2020 Hearst Award finalist, Carolina News has helped provide me with ample experience in a newsroom setting comparable to that of most local level news stations.
