WACH-TV in Columbia, SC has an immediate opening for a Digital Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our digital platforms, including the station’s website and social media platforms. This position will also work closely with the Reporters, Producers and other newsroom staffers on content. Our digital producers find and write content, work with management to grow the station’s digital platforms, and stay current on company copyright guidelines. |
Requirements:
WACH-TV in Columbia, SC has an immediate opening for a Digital Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our digital platforms, including the station’s website and social media platforms. This position will also work closely with the Reporters, Producers and other newsroom staffers on content. Our digital producers find and write content, work with management to grow the station’s digital platforms, and stay current on company copyright guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Exceptional news judgment
- Compelling and accurate AP style writing skills
- Knowledge of different social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok
- An understanding of Search Engine Optimization and how it can impact web traffic
- Basic photo and video editing skills
- Strong copyediting skills
- Basic knowledge of Google Analytics and social media analytics
- Flexibility with work schedules when coverage requires it
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication skills
- On-the-spot problem-solving abilities
- A passion for working as part of a team
Experience:
- Must have at least some previous writing and social media experience in a professional or educational setting
- A Journalism degree is preferred
