Details:Do you want to be part of a winning team? WLOS News 13 has an immediate opening for Executive Producer – Digital to oversee news content on all of our highly successful digital and social media platforms. This is a hands on position that not only leads the time of four digital producers, but also manages the big picture goals of the platforms. You will also work closely with the newsroom as a whole for story development and to communicate digital needs to the entire team.

This is a hands on position that not only leads the time of four digital producers, but also manages the big picture goals of the platforms. You will also work closely with the newsroom as a whole for story development and to communicate digital needs to the entire team.

Some additional responsibilities of our Executive Producer- Digital will include:

  • Oversee digital platforms to ensure we are serving our local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, protect and empower our audiences
  • Supervise producers as well as review stories and provide feedback to encourage powerful storytelling
  • Manage news room when needed and handle breaking news situations to empower and grow our audiences
  • Collaborate with News Directors and other station managers to create goals and work flows for digital platforms

What skills do you need to be successful in our role?

  • Proven track record of creating compelling and engaging stories across multiple platforms
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, experience managing breaking news and meeting strict deadlines
  • Ability to identity problems and provide solutions
  • A strong commitment to journalistic standards and ethics
  • Extraordinary people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating
  • Strong understanding of how to drive digital traffic
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a television news environment or equivalent
  • A college degree in Journalism or a related field is preferred
  • Strong writing skills and a proven track record for getting results on initiatives
