Position/Title:Research Analyst – 15670
Details:WLTX, TEGNA’s CBS affiliate in Columbia, SC, is looking for a Research Analyst. In this role, you will provide valuable insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making for the television station. You will gather, analyze, and interpret data related to audience demographics, viewing habits, market trends, and competitor activities. You must know how to take raw data to develop storylines about our award-winning news product. Social media marketing opportunities in support of creating targeted FB and IG sponsored messages. You should be strong with Excel and PowerPoint or Canva. You will also assist with some programming needs. If you are organized and detail-oriented, this job is for you. Hybrid flexible role, if desired; part on-site, part remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Track target audiences, competitive landscape, societal trends, pre-campaign insights, post-campaign effectiveness for WLTX and its advertisers
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports on key performance metrics for TV, sales, and digital
  • Find data stories from internal and external research sources
  • Simplify complex information into proper context with actionable insights
  • Collaborate with news, sales, and marketing on strategies that drive ratings and revenue
  • Develop and design consumer profiles/personas
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and 3rd party vendors on executing research
  • Update WLTX local programming schedule weekly and notify all stakeholders when changes are made

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in Marketing, Research, or related field
  • Thorough understanding of audience measurement tools; Nielsen, ComScore, Google Analytics, Google Trends, Scarborough, and Media Monitors
  • Will use the following software tools: Wide Orbit Media Sales, Nielsen applications (NLTV), Google Data Studio, Prime Lingo (Scarborough), Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Results-driven self-starter who can identify what needs to be done, in what order, and then do it
  • Proven skills/examples of being a data storyteller
  • Strong verbal and visual communication of research information
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%

Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
