Investigative Reporter

JOB SUMMARY:
WIS Television, the #1 station and award-winning NBC affiliate in South Carolina’s capital city, is seeking an experienced Investigative Reporter to join our team.  We are looking for an aggressive, self-starter, who is adept at researching and creating compelling investigative content.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Research, develop, and create investigative content for WIS-TV’s on-air and digital platforms

-Produce both long and short-term investigative projects

-Develop sources and leads that help uncover exclusive content

-Present information in a fair, unbiased manner

-Focus on investigative reports that hold the powerful accountable, reveal corruption, and help find solutions for viewers

-Work closely with News managers and corporate legal team

-Provide insight and investigative analysis of breaking news and “big” stories

-Utilize databases to research and reveal critical information and facts

REQUIREMENTS:

-Two to three years experience working as an Investigative Reporter or four years working as a General Assignment Reporter

-Refined ability to write for broadcast and digital platforms

-Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
